Tyson is not underestimating the MMA fighter and bare-knuckle boxer. July 20 had been marked on a lot of peoples' calendars ever since a surprising boxing bout between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was announced. But an ulcer flare-up put the fight in question, and Tyson ultimately made the decision to postpone the fight so he can be fully healthy against the much-younger Paul.
Not content with waiting around until November to scrap, Paul decided to find a replacement for Tyson and hold on to the July 20 date. Given Paul's track record of fighting unprepared opponents, many fans believed this was more of the same. But Perry seems to be a serious fighter and could be dangerous if he can transfer some of his skills to the boxing ring. In fact, Tyson himself thinks Paul should be careful.
Paul revealed what Tyson said to him personally. He's like, 'what is Jake thinking? So he has some concerns, but Tyson, my message to you is: 'Don't worry, I'm going to put this guy to sleep. This is the Mike appetizer and you're next. Paul also gave a health update on Tyson, saying that he's " doing good " and that he has returned to training already.
Despite the overwhelming confidence from Paul when it comes to facing Tyson, he does seem to care about the year-old's health, more so than any of his other opponents. There's a level of respect there that's usually not seen from Paul. We'll see if Perry gets any semblance of respect in the ring on Saturday.
